Just in time for the holidays, Sommelier Craig Suveg and acclaimed Inland Empire Food Critic David Cohen are hosting the first Food and Wine Pairing Class at Suveg Cellars.
Dating all the way back to his days on the KVCR TV show Table for Two, David Cohen has been a food critic in the Inland Empire for over 30 years. He now writes for Inland Empire Magazine, the San Bernardino Sun, the Press Enterprise and the Ontario Daily Bulletin. In addition to his writing exploits, David has cooked dozens of charitable dinners and raised over $250,000 for variations organizations throughout the Inland Empire.
Craig and David are teaming up to present this two and a half hour course on how to pair wine with food.
The course will include:
+The foundational concepts of food and wine pairing - acidity, tannin, fruit vs. mineral, sweetness, and why these elements go with certain foods.
+Varietal rundown - Craig and David will examine many of the common varietals of wine, and make recommendations on how to pair these wines with food.
+Food Pairings - Participants will be able to taste small bites prepared by David, and work with him and Craig to pair these dishes with wines by sampling multiple options.
+Chocolate Pairings - Participants will conclude the class by tasting multiple varieties of chocolate, and learning about the various ways that red wine can pair with different chocolates.
Tickets are $50.00 per person to the general public.
