Our first Montepulciano Objection Overruled, though well-received, caused some controversy behind the scenes. Craig Suveg himself was outvoted by our tasting crew, bottling our first Montepulciano before he thought it was ready and wincing each time Devin or Jay told the story in our tasting room.
With our 2016 vintage of Montepulciano, Craig may finally get the last word. Adding 4% Petite Sirah to firm up the wine's tannic structure and deepen its color, Objection Sustained achieves a new level of balance between earthiness and fresh fruit. With aromas of soft, luscious pie cherry fruit, and a palate of crushed blackberries, violets and dried fig accompanied by damp woody forest floor earthiness, this is the PERFECT wine to pair with almost any Thanksgiving dish.
We'll let you be the judge over whether Craig's objections should have been sustained, or overruled. Throughout the day we'll be tallying up votes on our chalkboard to see who was right. Make sure to show up and cast your vote!
