After running into every conceivable issue to take this wine to market, from filtering issues to long label waits, we're equal parts excited and relieved to finally bring our award-winning Viognier "Pardon My French" back to the Tasting Room on Saturday, June 11th.
Viognier, a french grape varietal pronounced VEE-OWN-YAY, was the most widely mispronounced word in our tasting room in 2020 and 2021. To avoid any linguistic complications moving forward, we named the Viognier "Pardon My French" for anyone who wants to avoid pronouncing the varietal altogether. This vintage of Viognier was particularly challenging, as our initial attempts at filtering the wine did not come out as expected. For the first time ever we needed to refilter a white wine, making this one of the more laborious programs we've ever completed. It was the cause of many curses and lots of aggravation, giving the name "Pardon My French" dual meaning in this vintage.
This vintage of Viognier is our first from Paso Robles, and has many of the classic notes that our Lodi vintages have had in the past. Heady aromatic notes of honeysuckle, lush white peaches, ripe melon, fresh orange peel, and floral hints of gardenias. This wine is made to drink now, so make sure to enjoy it by year's end!
