2022 Albariño "Identity Crisis" Release

Suveg Cellars is excited to announce the release of it's first Albariño! Join us on Sunday 7/9 to try our first ever release of this varietal, bottled under the name "Identity Crisis."

The name Identity Crisis was initially given to our Pinot Grigio, as it related to the history and origins of the grape. Albariño, which is a Spanish varietal, was thought to be a derivation of Riesling for centuries until genetic testing revealed that it was its own unique variety. Albariño also fell victim to identity crisis, which is why it was bottled under this moniker.

The wine that Albariño produces also bears a striking resemblance to Pinot Grigio in the areas of freshness and acidity. This well balanced and refreshing “fruit and flower” aromatic wine expresses citrus flavors of fresh lemon peel, lemon zest, lime, grapefruit and beeswax with more complex notes of apricot and almond anticipated with bottle age. It’s medium plus acidity and subtle salinity contribute to its racy edges and clean, crisp finish.
