We're excited to announce the release of our first EVER Piedmont Rosso Riserva! Join us at the Tasting Room on Sunday, September 10th for a taste of 2018 One Shady Lady Riserva.

One Shady Lady is a blend of 70% Barbera, and 30% Nebbiolo, and was inspired by Craig's friendship with world-class Italian wine producer Attilio Pecchenino. Craig spent time studying winemaking with Attilio back in 2018 when he learned of the Piedmont Rosso blends, where winemakers blend the 3 predominate grapes of Piedmont (Nebbiolo, Barbera, and Dolcetto) to achieve different expressions of terroir and subregion.  Craig sought to recreate this regional practice with California grapes, blending 30% Nebbiolo with a base of 70% Barbera. The result is a singular wine that balances the smooth, everyday drinking of a Barbera with the complexity and character of a Nebbiolo. Packed with black raspberry, blackberry, tobacco notes, red licorice, leather and roses, this wine is truly unlike anything we have ever produced. The Riserva was aged an additional 14 months in a small 30 gallon barrel, packing the wine with additional complexity and softness.

There are only 13 cases of this very limited wine available! This wine will not be available for long, so make sure to grab your bottles before they disappear!

Release Details

• Our 2018 Piedmont Rosso Riserva will be available for tastings starting Sunday, September 10th.

• This wine will not be available by the glass, and not available through our online webstores, as we anticipate selling out within several days.
