Ever so often, we release a wine that stands in a league of its own. A wine that has been years in the making and is so meticulously crafted, that it deserves a label of its own. Join us to welcome our very limited edition 2017 Nebbiolo Riserva "Attitude Adjustment" to the menu on Sunday, January 28th.
Many of you may not know, but Nebbiolo is Craig's favorite grape. Derived from the Italian word for fog, "nebbia," Nebbiolo is named for the seasonal fog that settles over its ancestral homeland in Northern Italy- Piedmont. Craig's 2017 vintage of Nebbiolo Riserva was aged 62 months in a barrel and further softened by 12 months of bottle aging, consistent with the Riserva standards of the Italian wine region most famous for producing Nebbiolo, "Barolo." The Riserva boasts all the classic Nebbiolo notes like licorice, tar, pipe tobacco, leather, violets, roses, and hints of espresso. An immense wine matched only by its complexity, it will age gracefully over the coming decade.
This released is very limited. There are 263 bottles of 2017 Nebbiolo Riserva available, all numbered, and stamped.
Since we released our 2016 Nebbiolo Riserva, Craig has received several accolades from top Nebbiolo producers in Italy like Roberto Voerzio and Sylvia Altare. Some of the best winemakers in Italy have called Suveg Cellars Nebbiolo the best in the United States. On Sunday, January 28th, Winemaker Craig Suveg will be pouring tastes of our Nebbiolo Riserva in the tasting room for ONE DAY ONLY from 3-8pm on Sunday 1/28. After Sunday the 28th, tasting of the 2017 Riserva will be available by appointment only. Each tasting appointment will be privately hosted by Craig in the Suveg Cellars Barrel Room, where he pairs our Riserva with different accompaniments and dives into the winemaking process and cultivation of the grape.
Event Details
This release will take place on Sunday, January 28th at 3pm. Craig will be personally pouring the 2017 Nebbiolo Riserva from 3-8pm on Sunday the 28th of January.
This will be a WINE CLUB ONLY WINE.
After Sunday, January 28th, this wine will only be available for tastings by appointment only with Winemaker Craig Suveg. The wine will be for sale, but can only be tasted in a private tasting with the winemaker.
