Nero D'Avola is coming back to Suveg Cellars! Join us on Sunday, November 24th for the release of our 2021 Nero D'Avola "Devil's Advocate."
Nero D'Avola is a grape varietal that hails from the island of Sicily. Nero in Italian means "black" and D'Avola translates to "from Avola," a town located on the southernly Italian isle. However, thanks to its near-identical pronunciation to "Nero Diavola," many have gone on to call this grape "The Black Devil." Our 2016 vintage sported the name "Hear No Evil," and the next renditions in our string of successive Nero D'Avola vintages were fittingly named "See No Evil" and "Speak No Evil." To keep continuity, the name of our 5th vintage of Nero d'Avola will be called "Devil's Advocate," a nod to the grape's origin as well as its unique backstory. We also added 30% Cabernet Sauvignon to our Nero D'Avola to give it additional structure and age-ability.
Sporting signature fresh red fruit, black licorice, chocolate-covered cherry, and forest floor-like earth notes, this classic rendition of the captivating varietal can be enjoyed today or aged over the coming decade.
